ASUS GX10 / DGX Spark First Look: Why Local AI Is the Future

Published 12/05/2026

Description

In this video, I take a first look at the ASUS GX10 / NVIDIA DGX Spark and explain why I believe local AI is a big part of the future. At first glance, buying a DGX Spark may seem hard to justify when tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or even coding assistants such as Claude Code are available through monthly subscriptions. For the average user, that is probably true. But for a power user, developer, or enterprise environment, the equation changes quickly once you start using multiple models intensively, hit subscription limits, or need more control over your data and workflows. Contents: 0:00 - Introduction 0:10 - Description 5:58 - Unbox 7:15 - Initial Startup 20:08 - Conclusion In this video, I share my thoughts on: Why a device like the DGX Spark / ASUS GX10 can make sense for serious AI experimentation. The difference between using cloud AI subscriptions and running local LLMs. Why 128GB of unified memory opens the door to larger models than what I can run on my RTX 5090 with 32GB VRAM. Why I think the future of AI will be a mix of cloud AI + local AI, especially in the enterprise world. The importance of privacy, confidentiality, legal constraints, and data ownership. How local setups could evolve with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), CAG (Cache-Augmented Generation), and MCP servers. My plan to use tools like Claude Code or Aider with models running across both my RTX 5090 and the DGX Spark. I also go through the initial startup, setup, updates, and first impressions of the ASUS version of the DGX Spark. #LocalAI #DGXSpark #ASUSGX10 Follow me on X: https://l.samayas.eu/jo3eaYEf3E?P=YT&V=110 Buy me a Coffee : https://l.samayas.eu/jX6xL7EWhd?P=YT&V=110 Studio Equipment Camera Sony Alpha ZV-E10 II: https://l.samayas.eu/k7y95TREl0?P=YT&V=110 Secondary Camera Obsbot Tail Air: https://l.samayas.eu/iFQu9WfmCw?P=YT&V=110 Elgato Prompter: https://l.samayas.eu/fHVrqqXtSc?P=YT&V=110 Microphone Rode Wireless GO I
